The Russian Emergencies Ministry showcased the country's leading projects in the area of preventing and eliminating emergency situations at an international specialized exhibition, the AidEx-2016 humanitarian aid conference, according to the ministry's press service.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia's Emergencies Ministry is showcasing its latest projects at the ongoing AidEx aid development exhibition in Brussels, the ministry's press service said Wednesday.

"The Russian Emergencies Ministry has showcased the country's leading projects in the area of preventing and eliminating emergency situations at an international specialized exhibition, the AidEx-2016 humanitarian aid conference," the press service said.

Russian exhibits include the latest firefighting systems, firefighter and rescuer gear, emergency services personnel personal protective equipment as well as innovative means of delivering first aid to accident victims.

The exhibition was visited by the ministry representative in the European Union, Igor Veselov, who noted an increased interest in the Russian exhibit shown by participants.

"The exhibition… has great political importance and clearly shows our country's active participation in delivering humanitarian aid around the world despite anti-Russian propaganda and sanctions," he added.

The AidEx Exhibition & Conference is taking place on November 16-17. The aid event gathers representatives from both government and non-government aid organizations from around the world. This year's AidEx is attended by over 200 suppliers and focuses on localization, according to the organizers.
