KIEV (Sputnik) — Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko hold phone talks on Tuesday with US President-elect Donald Trump and assured him of Kiev's readiness to actively cooperate with new US administration in order to strengthen strategic partnership, Poroshenko's press service said Tuesday.
"The head of the Ukrainian state congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential election and assured him of the readiness to actively cooperate with the new administration in the interest of strengthening strategic partnership," the press service said in a statement published on its website.
According to the statement, Poroshenko and Trump agreed to continue regular contacts.
"The head of the Ukrainian state invited US President-elect Donald Trump to visit Ukraine at his convenience," the statement said.
