MOSCOW (Sputnik) — In July 2015, the P5+1 group of countries, comprising China, France, Russia, the United States and the United Kingdom plus Germany, reached an agreement with Iran to ensure Tehran’s nuclear program remained peaceful in exchange for the relief of nuclear-related sanctions. In mid-January, the sanctions were removed after the International Atomic Energy Agency verified Tehran’s compliance with the deal.
"We believe that the agreement of the 'six' [P5+1 countries] with Iran is balanced and represents a significant contribution to strengthening international security. Our assessment has not changed," Ryabkov told reporters.
Earlier, it was reported that US President-elect Donald Trump may review the Iranian agreement, which he considers to be the "stupidest" deal of all time.
