Liberal Democratic leader Tim Farron said millions of Britons were worried by how Prime Minister Theresa May’s administration was handling Brexit and accused it of having no plan for talks with Brussels.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Liberal Democratic leader Tim Farron vowed Friday his party would vote against triggering Brexit unless a second referendum on the terms of the United Kingdom’s deal with the European Union is held.

"We will vote against Article 50 unless it allows the people a vote on the deal, because the will of the people must prevail – both on departure and destination," Farron said in a statement.

He said millions of people in Britain were worried by how Prime Minister Theresa May’s administration was handling Brexit and accused it of having no plan for talks with Brussels.

"The government has no plan and their haphazard approach is leading us towards a disastrous version of Brexit which risks jobs, communities, security and the economic health of the nation," he concluded.

England’s High Court ruled earlier this month that the government needs parliamentary approval to trigger Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, despite 51.9 percent of Britons voting to leave in June.
