NEW YORK (Sputnik) — Peskov made a statement while commenting on Trump's victory speech:

"It's phenomenal how apparently close they are in their conceptual approach to foreign policy," he told reporters.

He added that these similarities were a good basis for a "moderate optimism" in the development of bilateral ties.

Throughout November 11-30, New York will be hosting The World Chess Championship Match between Magnus Carlsen of Norway and Russian Sergey Karjakin. Peskov is attending the championship as the chairman of the Board of Trustees of Russian Chess Federation.
