WASHINGTON (Sputnik), Anastasia Levchenko – Krydee expressed hope that Trump would be better and more realistic option for resolving the Syrian conflict than Hillary Clinton.

"Of course the new US leader is not directly my business, but the United States is the country that has been supporting terrorism, it was not serious about fighting it. So I hope that Donald Trump in the Syrian situation, judging by what he pledged, would be better and more realistic," Krydee said.

In their campaign pledges, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton promised to establish a no-fly zone in Syria, while her GOP rival claimed that Washington needed to work closer with Moscow, saying that Russia really fights terrorism, particularly Daesh.

"If Clinton was to win, she would bring us, Syrians, back to the beginning of the war. I was worried that she could have become the president. Both of the candidates, in my opinion, were not a good choice for any country. But sometimes you need to choose between the two evils," Krydee told Sputnik.

The Syrian issue is a matter of much debate, as the country has been torn apart for about five years by an armed conflict between the government (which is supported by Russia), opposition groups (supported by the United States) and terrorist organizations, including the Islamic State and Jabhat Fatah al Sham (formerly known as the Nusra Front), both outlawed in Russia and many other countries.

Trump said during an October debate with his Democrat rival, Hillary Clinton, that her plan to force Syrian President Bashar Assad to step down threatened to trigger a Third World War with Russia and urged to focus on fighting the Islamic State terror group instead.
