07:30 GMT 03.11.2016 (Updated: 07:58 GMT 03.11.2016) The assembly of the joint Russian-Chinese long-haul wide-body passenger plane will take place in the eastern Chinese city of Shanghai, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said Thursday.
GONGYI (China), (Sputnik) — During a working trip to China, Manturov told reporters:
"This aircraft will be assembled in Shanghai. This is one of the major high-tech investments we are implementing with Chinese counterparts."
Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac) are working on developing the jumbo jet at an estimated cost of $13 billion, expected to take its first test flight in 2021 and put into commercial production in 2025.
