Death toll from the deadly train collision that occurred on Thursday in the southern Pakistani port city of Karachi has reached 21, local media reported.

Train Collision Kills 17 in Pakistan's Karachi
MOSCOW (Sputnik)  Earlier in the day, two trains collided in Karachi. Media reported about 17 people killed and 40 more injured.

The Pakistani Geo TV broadcaster reported, citing a medical source, that 21 bodies and 65 injured people had been transported to a local hospital.

The media outlet added that the deadly accident occurred at 7:18 a.m. local time (02:18 GMT).

According to the broadcaster, all trains from the largest city in Pakistan have been suspended, while the trains heading for Karachi had been stopped before the end of a rescue operation.
