Iran, Russia Have Progress in All Spheres of Bilateral Relations - Zarif
MOSCOW (Sputnik) The Iran Air Show is set to take place on November 16-19 on Iran's southern Kish Island in the Persian Gulf. The event, which has been held regularly since 2002, will be the first since international sanctions against Iran were lifted early this year, enabling the country to return to global markets and upgrade its aged civil aviation fleet.

"Russian companies will come to the air show on Kish for the first time since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The debut promises to be spectacular. We invited five Su-27 aircraft from the Russian Knights aerobatic demonstration team so they show some high-class aerobatics," Bonakdar said.

Supported by the Kish Free Zone Organization, the area is easily accessible to foreign businesses and all companies are welcome, including those from the United States, he stressed, noting that companies from Japan, Singapore, Russia, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Canada and France are among those invited.

"Furthermore, the strategy of development for the sector will be announced. Aspects such as foreign company presence in the Iranian aviation sector, the scope of foreign investment and the potential for developing the airport network will be determined," the event chief added.

The Iran Air Show is frequently attended by high-level Iranian government and corporate officials from neighboring countries. The previous event was attended by a large number of representatives from domestic aviation companies, universities and foreign companies. The upcoming eighth air show will feature two high profile conferences, namely the Iran Presumptive Aviation Leadership Summit and the Iran Five Year Business Projection Conference, according to the organizers.
