Russian tennis players Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina won the WTA finals doubles title in Singapore on Sunday beating Bethanie Mattek-Sands from the United States and Lucie Safarova from the Czech Republic.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The two-sets match lasted for 1 hour and 37 minutes.

The first set ended with a tiebreak, in which the Russian players secured a fast win: 7:5. The score in the second set was 6:3.

Makarova and Vesnina also won gold medals at the Rio Olympics 2016, beating Swiss players Timea Bacsinszky and Martina Hingis.
