Spanish football club Real Madrid announced on Sunday that it agreed with Welsh forward Gareth Bale to prolong his contract till June 2022.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The previous contract with Bale expires on June 30, 2019.

“Real Madrid C. F. and Gareth Bale have agreed an extension to the player's contract, keeping him at the club until the 30th of June 2022,” Real said in a statement.

Bale joined Real Madrid in September 2013. Together with Real he twice won the UEFA Champions League, once Copa del Rey, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

In the current season, he scored four goals in 12 matches.
