22:53 GMT 27.10.2016 (Updated: 01:03 GMT 28.10.2016) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov called the Israeli reaction on a UNESCO resolution dismissing the ties of the Jewish people to the Temple Mount "overly emotional."
JERUSALEM (Sputnik) – On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recalled on Wednesday country's ambassador to UNESCO for consultations in protest the resolution.

"We felt that that the Israelis’ emotions were a little bit over the top in this issue … We clarified our approaches to the Israeli colleagues on this issue, we explained why we voted for these resolutions … and called on them to be constructive in the future in discussing these issues," Gatilov told reporters.
