Hillary Clinton's aide concealed he knew that Barack Obama received letters from the presidential candidate's private server, according to WikiLeaks.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — An aide to Hillary Clinton knew that US President Barack Obama received emails from the US Democratic presidential nominee's private server during her tenure as the US Secretary of State, although he told the public that he found out about this Clinton's practice from the news, according to emails released by WikiLeaks whistleblowing website on Tuesday.

"Jen you probably have more on this but it looks like POTUS just said he found out HRC was using her personal email when he saw it in the news," national spokesman for Clinton campaign Josh Schwerin wrote to Clinton's Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri in an email dated March 7, 2015.

"We need to clean this up — he has emails from her — they do not say state.gov," the reply message sent by Clinton's aide Cheryl Mills read revealing that Obama received emails sent from Clinton's private server.

Clinton has been severely criticized for the use of a private email server and account for official business during her 2009-2013 tenure as secretary of state.

WikiLeaks published the first batch of emails on October 8. On October 20, the whistleblowing website also published a bunch of letters sent to or by Barack Obama before he became US president.
