Russian Envoy Denies Country Seeks to Weaken EU

Russia is not trying to weaken the European Union and would prefer to see the bloc united and strong, Russia's Permanent Representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov said Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) Last week, European Council President Donald Tusk said that Russia sought to weaken the European Union through its strategy.

“We want to see the European Union united, strong, with a positive attitude towards our country, and more independent in taking decisions, which is rather important,” Chizhov said via a video linkup from Brussels.
