MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The explosion occurred at 14:00 local time (06:00 GMT) in a northwestern Chinese province Shaanxi, however, the reason for the incident has not been specified to date, according to Xinhua news service.
The blast caused severe damage to many nearby buildings, including a hospital, and cars. A group of 70 rescue workers arrived at the scene.
Earlier, it was reported that a detonation of explosives, illegally stored in the basement, could have caused the explosion. The building, where the blast took place, was destroyed completely.
