Death toll from the Lawin typhoon, also known as Haima, has reached 15, local media reported, citing Philippine officials.

BALI (Indonesia) (Sputnik) — A total of 13 of the fatalities were killed in separate landslides in Cordillera Administrative Region and two casualties in Isabela province, GMA News agency reported, citing National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

According to the news outlet, over 92,000 people remain in evacuation centers.

The Philippines and surrounding regions are hit by dozens of tornadoes and typhoons annually during the monsoon season typically between June and December.
