Scottish Gov’s 2nd Referendum Bill | N. Ireland Poll Supports Abortion Changes
16:11 GMT 20.10.2016 (Updated: 16:41 GMT 20.10.2016) The Scottish Government have published a consultation on a second independence referendum in response to Britain’s vote to leave the EU; and, a new poll shows support for changes to abortion laws in Northern Ireland, currently the most restrictive in the UK.
This morning the Scottish Government took what appears to be the first step towards holding a second referendum on independence from the United Kingdom, with the publication of a consultation on how a second referendum — commonly referred to as indyref2 — would be run. We speak to SNP MP Dr Paul Monaghan.
As abortion laws and women’s rights spark protests across Europe, a new poll has shown that 72% of people in Northern Ireland would favour a change in laws to allow for abortions in cases of rape and incest. We speak to founder of the Abortion Support Network, Mara Clarke.
