NEW YORK (Sputnik) — Information about 24-year-old Samy Mohammed El-Goarany's death was disclosed in Manhattan federal court as part of evidence in a case against Ahmed Mohammed El Gammal, according to ABC 7.

El-Goarany travelled to Turkey in January 2015, where he received a military training before crossing over to Syria by February, according to media reports.

El Gammal, also known as Jamie Gammal, is charged with conspiring to provide material support to Daesh by helping El-Goarany cross the border and join the militants, media reported. His trial will take place on December 5.
