Hurricane Nicole has left 85 percent of Bermuda customers without electricity, local media report.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Nicole strengthened to an extremely dangerous category 4 storm on its way to Bermuda on Wednesday. On Thursday morning the hurricane began downgrading and no casualties have been reported.

The Royal Gazette, Bermuda’s English-language daily, said on Thursday that Nicole led to roof collapses, road damage and flooding on the island and that 25,800 people, or about 85 percent of Bermuda’s electricity customers were left without power as of Thursday evening.

The hurricane has downgraded to category 2, and is no moving out into the Atlantic, having left Bermuda on Thursday afternoon.
