US Democratic Party presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has denied allegations that she joked about carrying out a drone strike against Wikileaks founder Julian Assange in 2010.

MOSCOW, October 5 (Sputnik) — On Sunday, the True Pundit website said citing its sources that Clinton asked if the United States could have "just droned this guy [Assange]" while speaking at the Department of State on November 23, 2010.

"I don't recall any joke. It would have been a joke, if it had been said, but I don't recall that," Clinton said at a press conference in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Tuesday as quoted by the Politico online news outlet.

Julian Assange Delivering Speech on WikiLeaks' 10th Anniversary
Assange has been residing at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London since 2012 for fear of being extradited to Sweden where he has been accused of rape.

He denies the allegations, claiming they are a ruse organized by Washington to hand him over to the United States where he is wanted for leaking thousands of top-secret military documents.
