Washington Controversy Hampers Implementation of Russia-US Deal on Syria

The Syria peace plan brokered by Russia and the United States cannot be implemented while broad disagreements on its nature and purpose remain in the Obama administration, the political and media adviser to the Syrian President Bashar Assad said Monday.

DAMASCUS (Sputnik) — According to Shaaban, the Pentagon has ignored Obama's directives on the agreement.

"The Russian-US agreement on Syria will be impossible to implement while disagreements about it remain in the US administration," Bouthaina Shaaban said in an interview with Lebanon-based Al Mayadeen pan-Arabist satellite television channel.
