On September 8, Ksenia Dudchenko, a 6th grade student at school № 7 in Sayansk, unexpectedly received a reply from the Queen of Great Britain Elizabeth II.
It all started from an ordinary English class, in which the teacher suggested the class to write a letter to Elizabeth II as a practice. In her letter, Ksenia told about herself and her hometown as well as congratulated the Queen on her anniversary.
“I wrote that I am a student of 6th grade and then I congratulated the Queen on her 90th anniversary,” explained Ksenia to Sputnik.
But unlike her classmates, the girl decided to actually send the letter to the Queen, putting down the address “UK, London, Buckingham Palace” on the envelope in the post office.
Surprisingly enough, Ksenia received a reply from Her Majesty six months later.
“Dear Ksenia! The Queen asked me to write back to you and say thank you for the lovely pictures you sent to Her Majesty on the 90th anniversary,” reads the letter signed by Richenda Elton, court lady of the Queen.
“The Queen also sent me her greetings for sending colorful photos of my hometown. Her Majesty also sent me an article about the Buckingham Palace, Her jewelry and Her youth,” Ksenia told sputnik.
At first, Ksenia could not believe it and of course her classmates said it was all fake.
“My classmates said that the letter was fake. However, our English teacher reassured them. She said that Elizabeth II replies but not to everyone,” Ksenia told Sputnik.
Ksenia now feels more enthusiastic than ever to learn English language.
“When I learn to speak English better, I will visit the Queen,” Ksenia told Sputnik.
