"Among likely voters in Ohio, Trump stands at 46 percent to Clinton’s 41 percent. … In Florida, likely voters split 47 percent for Trump to 44 percent for Clinton, within the poll’s 3.5 percentage point margin of error," CNN said on Wednesday.
Among all registered voters, Clinton has a lead of 45 percent to 44 percent over Trump in Florida. In Ohio, 43 percent of poll respondents picked Trump and 39 percent favored Clinton.
CNN noted that recent national surveys indicate the two candidates are polling within the margin of error, effectively a statistical tie.
Ohio and Florida are considered "battleground states" crucial for a candidate to secure the 270 electoral votes needed to win the November 8 presidential contest.
