Kerry to Meet Japanese, South Korean Counterparts During Annual UN Summit

US Secretary of State John Kerry will attend a trilateral meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida and South Korea Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session, the US Department of State announced in a press release.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — "The meeting, which will be hosted by Japan, will focus on trilateral cooperation, including the response to the September 9 North Korean nuclear test, and will continue the close coordination with these two important US allies on shared regional and global priorities," the release stated on Wednesday.

The meeting will take place on Sunday, the release added.

World Leaders typically meet at the United Nations each September as the General Assembly session opens.
