Dozens of Local Governors Sacked in Turkey Over Links to PKK, Gulen
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Daily Sabah newspaper, conspiracy against the Turkish government is cited as the reason of the requested detention.

A coup attempt took place on July 15 in Turkey and was suppressed the following day. The Turkish authorities accuse Gulen of having orchestrated the coup. Gulen denies the accusations.

In August, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan voiced his disappointment over the fact that Gulen was not even detained in the United States after Ankara's request for his extradition.
