Military operations begun by the Syrian army and allied forces two weeks ago were successful as terrorists were forced to flee occupied positions after the continuous attack from government forces.
These military operations were conducted after an announcement made by the Syrian army command vowing to completely clean the province of Latakia from the terrorist groups in order to prepare a large-scale operation to free the Idlib province.
The infantry advanced from Kinsabba and Al Hamrat towards the two directions, one of the commanders told Sputnik. They attacked militants near the eastern border of Latakia province.
"In a short time, our forces managed to seize control of the positions in the east of Latakia, forcing the militants to retreat in Idlib. In addition, we have established control over the two heights on Mount Turkmen," the commander said.
The Syrian army was able to provide even greater security to liberated Kinsabba city, which is the cherished goal of the terrorists who took over the town to control the Aleppo-Latakia route.
Moreover, the main forces of the Syrian Armed Forces will advance from Kinsabba to liberate Idlib in the near future.
