Libya's Unity Government Suffers Fresh Blow as Army Seizes Oil Ports
UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) — Libya’s so-called oil crescent was seized last week by forces loyal to General Khalifa Haftar and the Tobruk-based parliament, who are opposed to the UN-backed government of national accord (GNA).

"This development will further hinder oil exports, deprive Libya of its only source of income, and increase the division of the country. This has to stop," Kobler said in a speech at the UN Security Council.

Kobler called for a prompt cessation of hostilities and urged all warring parties to avoid inflicting damage on the oil facilities.

He stressed that Libyan natural resources belonged to all Libyans and must be protected and exported legally under the authority of GNA’s Presidency Council.
