BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — NATO is studying Russia's latest initiatives on reduction of risks and new trust measures and will discuss them during the next NATO-Russia Council meeting, a NATO official said Monday.
"During our last meeting [NATO-Russia Council], Russia listed some ideas on how to reduce risks and improve transparency. We requested, and have now received, some further clarifications in writing from Russia," the official told RIA Novosti.
"We are now considering the Russian ideas carefully and will decide on our next steps. Allies are also consulting with Finland and Sweden on these issues. We expect to return to these issues at future meetings of the NATO-Russia Council," the official said adding that the date of the fresh meeting had not been coordinated yet.
