MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Jean-Marie Le Pen is a president of a financial association Cotelec which has often lent money to Front National and continues to do so despite Le Pen's departure from FN.
These funds will be welcome at FN since the party has had trouble accumulating the 30 million euros ($33.6 million) necessary for presidential and legislative campaigns, Le Parisien reported.
Jean-Marie Le Pen had been the leader of the Front National, a national conservative party, since its creation in 1972 until 2011. In 2015 Le Pen was suspended and later expelled from the party he co-founded. Marine Le Pen has been a president of the FN since 2011.
