'No Guarantees' that Syrian Rebels Will Respect Russia-US Ceasefire Deal
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian center for Syrian reconciliation at the Hmeymim airbase registered a total of six violations of the ceasefire regime in Syria in the last 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said Sunday.

"The ceasefire has been observed in most provinces of the Syrian Arab Republic. Within last 24 hours, 6 ceasefire violations have been registered in the Damascus (5) and Latakia (1) provinces," the ministry said in a daily bulletin posted on its website.

According to the bulletin, armed formations of the Ahrar ash-Sham group have fired against the Hamrat inhabited area in the Latakia province, and Jaysh al-Islam formations, which had claimed to belong to the opposition, have performed mortar shelling in Haush-Duarah, Duma, Arbil, Jaubar and Harasta inhabited areas in the Damascus province.

"Russian Aerospace Forces and Syrian Air Force did not make strikes on opposition armed formations, which follow ceasefire regime and informed the Russian or American Centres for reconciliation about their location," the ministry added.

The Russia-US brokered ceasefire regime in Syria came into force on February 27. The Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham, formerly known as al-Nusra Front, and Daesh terrorist groups, which have been outlawed in Russia, are not part of the ceasefire deal.
