Putin to Hold Meeting on Main Parameters of 2018-25 State Arms Program Sept. 9
NOVO-OGAREVO (Moscow Region) (Sputnik) – All of Russia’s defense commitments should be carried out this year and a 2018-25 state armament program should be drafted by July 1, 2017, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday.

"All the budgetary commitments and plans in the field of defense and security we made earlier should be definitely implemented. A summary of proposals for the new draft of the state armaments program should be finalized this year," Putin said at a meeting on the 2018-25 program’s main parameters.

Afterward, Putin asked to submit the draft program for approval before July 1, 2017.

"In the preparation of its financial parameters, it is necessary to proceed from the fact that the armed forces and other troops should be provided with modern weapons and equipment at a level that would effectively and completely solve the assigned task of reliably defending Russia form potential military threats," he pointed out.
