At least three Turkish servicemen were killed and one injured in an attack of Daesh militants in northern Syria, the Turkish General Staff said Friday.

ANKARA (Sputnik) — According to the General Staff, the incident took place when Daesh fighters hit a Turkish tank in the Tel Al-Hawa region.

According to the Hurriyet Daily News, this attack brings a total number of Turkish casualties to seven since the Turkish military operation has started in Syria.

On August 24, Turkish forces, backed by US-led coalition aircraft, began a military operation dubbed Euphrates Shield to clear the Syrian town of Jarabulus and the surrounding area of Daesh, outlawed in Russia and many other countries worldwide.
