A new explosion ripped through the center of the Afghan capital Kabul, local media reported Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — This time, the blast went off in the Shar-e-Naw street in the vicinity of the Interior Ministry, the TOLO news television network said.

Earlier in the day, two explosions killed at least 36 people and hurt some 40 outside the Defense Ministry. The attack was reportedly perpetrated by the militant group Taliban.

Afghanistan has been gripped by political, social and security-related instability for decades, as radical extremist organizations continue to stage attacks against civilian and military targets.
