MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The quake occurred at 20:04 GMT on Thursday at a depth of 24.3 kilometers (15 miles), about 119 kilometers (74 miles) southwest of the city of Padangsidempuan in the province of North Sumatra, USGS said.
The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) said that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.5.
According to BMKG, there is no tsunami threat.
There have been no immediate reports of damages or casualties following the quake.
