Brazil votes today on Dilma Rousseff’s impeachment - we ask where the country is headed under her more conservative Vice President Michel Temer and we look at the human rights implications behind the Australian Government’s dismissal of allegations concerning the Nauru and Manus Island detention centres.

Today’s main stories: The Brazilian senate is currently voting on whether to impeach the embattled suspended president Dilma Rousseff. The vote is expected to succeed, and follows a nine month campaign by her opponents, which will likely see her conservative vice president Michel Temer officially installed as President.  We'll be asking where Brazil goes next, with the help of Professor Anthony Pereira from King’s College London's Brazil Institute.

Following on from reports over the past few weeks highlighting allegations of severe abuse at Australia’s offshore detention centers, the opposition Labor party will tomorrow bid to launch a full scale inquiry into the treatment of refugees and asylum seekers.  We talk to human rights lawyer and founder of Australia's asylum seeker resource center, Kon Karapanagiotidis.
