US Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign is full of anti-Russia hysteria as the Democrats are trying to undermine the campaign of their opponent, Republican nominee Donald Trump, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said in an interview.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — In an interview with the Fox News broadcaster aired late on Thursday, Assange said that Clinton is banking on the promotion of national security.

"The allegations by the Clinton campaign that everyone is a Russia agent are really disturbing. Hillary Clinton, the Democrat … has grabbed on the neo-McCarthyism [1950s anti-communist] hysteria about Russia and has been using it to demonize the Trump campaign," Assange said adding that the US Republican candidate and his campaign members are definitely not Russian agents.

Hillary Clinton's Anti-Russian Campaign May Backfire
In July, the whistleblower website published nearly 20,000 of hacked emails that apparently showed Democratic National Committee (DNC) members discussing ways to undercut Bernie Sanders in the race for the ruling party’s nomination.

Later that month, Clinton’s staff accused Trump of allegedly cooperating with Russian hackers, who were suspected of hacking into the DNC’s servers. Trump has denied this accusation.

In an interview aired by the Fox News earlier this week, Assange pledged to release new "significant" documents from Clinton’s campaign before the presidential elections are held in the United States in November.
