MOSCOW (Sputnik) — She noted that she would not return to the United States for training, however, she does not yet know where she will train.

"Yes, I am planning to go to Tokyo. I have more motivation now than ever," Efimova said at a press conference.

"The only thing that was holding me in the United States was my [swimming] coach [Dave Salo]. Now, he has been banned from training international sports athletes, and me in particular," Efimova explained.

Efimova, a four-time world champion, became a silver Olympic medalist this year. She had previously won bronze at the London Olympics in 2012.
