US Awards Lockheed Martin $10Bln to Support C-130J Aircraft Production

US defense giant Lockheed Martin has been awarded just over $10 billion in a not-to-exceed ceiling contract to support the production of the C-130J aircraft, the Pentagon said in a press release.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Work will be performed in the US state of Georgia and is expected to be complete by Aug. 18, 2026, the release noted.

"Lockheed Martin has been awarded… [a] contract with a not-to-exceed ceiling of $10,020,000,000 [to] support the C-130J production program, " the release stated on Friday.

The C-130J is an upgrade from the C-130E Hercules and includes new engines, computer systems and heads up displays for the pilots.

The multirole platform can be configured for cargo, transport, refueling or gunship roles.
