Argentina’s men’s field hockey team won the first Olympic gold, beating Belgium in Rio finals.
RIO DE JANEIRO (Sputnik) – Argentina won the Thursday match against Belgium with a score of 4 to 2. It is the first time that Argentina’s men’s field hockey team won an Olympic gold.

Germany’s men’s team took bronze, winning against the Netherlands.
Field hockey has been included in the Olympic Games since 1908.
The 2016 Summer Olympic Games are being held in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro from August 5 until August 21. Brazil is the first South American country to host the competition.
