Ukraine will not be part of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) mission at the upcoming Russian parliament elections, the head of the mission said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Elections to the Russian Federal Assembly’s State Duma are to be held on September 18, 2016.

"Of course, Ukraine will not be represented, neither will Russia itself, because Russia cannot be an observer according to the legislation. All other countries will participate," Vladimir Garkun told reporters.
