A very expensive typo in a popular book series is making its way to London later this year.

A first edition copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in the US) with a fairly minor typo is expected to fetch up to 26,000 pounds ($33,000) at Bonhams Fine Books and Manuscripts Sale in London this November.

The copy is one of only 500 that repeat the phrase "one wand" on Harry’s school supply list of "Other Equipment" for Hogwarts — as both the first and the last item listen. The Philosopher’s Stone, first published in 1997, has sold over 400 million copies worldwide.

Matthew Haley, head of Bonhams’ books and manuscripts, said, "As the first book in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone has a special place in the affections of the millions of readers across the world and the proof reading error about the wand in the first edition has, of course, become a treasured piece of Harry Potter arcana."

He added, "Like most enduring books aimed at younger readers, the Harry Potter books also have wide appeal to adults and there is a strong market among collectors for first editions. This copy is in excellent condition, one of the very best I’ve seen, and we’re expecting a lot of interest."
