Russian swimmer Anton Chupkov has won bronze in men’s 200m breaststroke.

RIO DE JANEIRO (Sputnik) – Russian swimmer Anton Chupkov has won bronze in men’s 200m breaststroke, bringing the total Russian medal toll to 15 at the Rio Olympics.

Chupkov completed the distance in 2 minutes 07.70 seconds. Kazakhstan's Dmitriy Balandin took gold, while American Josh Prenot won silver.

Thus, Russia now has a total of 15 medals at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro.

Earlier on Wednesday, Russian foil fencer Inna Deriglazova won gold, beating Elisa Di Francisca of Italy with a score of 12:11.

Deriglazova’s gold was Russia’s fourth at the Rio Games.

Earlier this week, Russian judoist Khasan Khalmurzaev won a gold medal in men's 81 kg finals, bringing Russia its third Olympic gold.

Apart from the four golds, Russia now has seven silver medals and four bronzes.

The Summer Olympic Games are being held in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro from August 5 until August 21. Brazil is the first South American country to host the competition.
