RIO DE JANEIRO (Sputnik) — Russian Committee’s President Alexander Zhukov met with IAAF chief Sebastian Coe at the International Olympic Committee session in Rio, which has been hosting the games since last week.

"I talked to Coe at the session, they [IAAF] don’t want to [repeal the ban], and it’s their business," Zhukov told Russian news agency R-Sport.

Russian athletes challenged the doping-related ban in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) which upheld IAAF’s decision. The International Olympic Committee refused to impose a blanket ban on Russia, leaving the decision up to individual federations.
