WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US-led coalition against Daesh destroyed more than two dozen rocket rails during its airstrikes in Iraq on Monday, the Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve said in a press release.
“Near Kisik, two strikes destroyed 30 ISIL [Daesh] rocket rails and 10 ISIL rockets and suppressed an ISIL mortar position,” the release said on Tuesday.
Six other coalition airstrikes in Iraq were waged near the towns of al-Baghdadi, Hit, Mosul, Sultan, Abdallah, and Qayyarah, and destroyed one Daesh fighting position, four vehicles, eight assembly areas, a weapons cache, as well as a mortar system.
The US-led coalition of more than 60 nations has been conducting anti-Daesh airstrikes in Syria and Iraq since 2014.
Daesh is outlawed in the United States, Russia and many other nations.
