Several Italians foodies decided to try traditional Russian breakfasts: syrniki, milk soup, cream of wheat, open sandwiches with salami and other dishes. Which of them will make Italian gourmands fall in love with Russian cuisine and which will seem really odd for their delicate Mediterranean palates?

It seems like syrniki, which are cooked from cottage cheese, have won everyone's heart. However, no one guessed the true ingredient — some thought it was a polenta-like dish and others ventured that the dish had with potatoes in it.

Milk soup, a typical Russian dish, and cream of wheat were not met with great enthusiasm. "Does Putin eat that for breakfast?" asked one of the gourmands incredulously.

A jelly-like Russian soft drink was not appreciated either. It reminded some of a scarlet fever medicine, but surprisingly very thick. "It would taste better if you add some vodka," concluded another critic.

Which breakfast was considered the most appetizing? Probably the meaty ones: cutlets, cooked with garlic, and a salami sandwich, served with cucumber. At least something was familiar!
