Chinese Team Expects Int'l Army Games to Boost Friendly Relations With Russia

Chinese troops intend to boost friendly relations with their Russian colleagues during the International Army Games 2016.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — China's military hopes to strengthen friendly relations with Russian colleagues during the International Army Games 2016, the head of the Chinese team participating in the Safe Route competition, Bin Zeng, said Tuesday.

"In general, the competition is of wide international significance, and we have arrived to deepen the friendly relations between our countries and to learn from each other," Bin said.

Russia is currently hosting the International Army Games, which kicked off on July 30. The games feature the competitions in 23 disciplines. A total of 121 teams from 19 countries across the world partake in the games monitored by observers from 11 countries.

The Safe Route competition takes place in the Volgograd Region in Volzhsky town. Teams from four countries, including Russia, China, Kazakhstan and Belarus take part in the competition.
