In one of the incidents, a woman in her 20s was killed. Three other women were hospitalized while one more individual refused to be transported to hospital.
In the other incident, a man opened fire in a confrontation at a parking garage but people managed to disarm the attacker and handed him over to the police who transported him to hospital.
"They engaged the suspect, disarmed him and took him down."
The incident claimed no victims.
"These are two unrelated incidents that occurred in close proximity in both location and time," Austin police chief of staff Brian Manley said.
The law enforcement asked anyone who has a video of the deadly incident to share it with police to assist the investigation. The attacker is believed to be a person in his 20s
