MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The UK Ministry of Defense announced on Friday a plan to launch an accelerator to appropriately respond to most pressing national security challenges and maintain British military advantage.
"The National Security Strategy and Strategic Defence and Security Review 2015 stated that the Ministry of Defence (MOD) will launch an innovation initiative, together with other departments. As part of this initiative, a new defence and security accelerator is to be established," the ministry said in a statement.
The accelerator is expected to move ideas toward their application faster in order "to maintain military advantage and protect the UK."
The initiative will also coordinate efforts between the UK government and the private and education sectors to develop solutions to most significant national security challenges.
