Every Country on Earth at Risk of Terror Attacks - Italian Defense Minister

Italy's Defense Minister Roberta Pinotti said that there is no country in the world with zero risk of terrorist threat.

ROME (Sputnik) — There is currently no country in the world with a zero level of terrorist threat, Italy's Defense Minister Roberta Pinotti said on Thursday.

"We know that there is no country with zero risk. After the terrorist attack in [the Paris concert hall of] Bataclan we have raised the alarm level of and work with great attention to prevent possible tragedies related to terrorism," Penotti said, speaking at the Raitre television program.

She stressed the importance of the cooperation of all citizens in countering terrorism and noted that the authorities were responsible for making the right decisions in emergency situations.

In November, extremists attacked several venues across Paris, killing 130 people and injuring over 350 at restaurants, the Bataclan concert hall and in the vicinity of the Stade de France stadium. Responsibility for the attacks was claimed by the Islamic State (ISIL or Daesh) militant group, operating in Syria and Iraq, and outlawed in Russia.

Following the Paris attacks, Italy strengthened its security measures and maximize the alarm level.

Over the past two weeks, a wave of attacks has occurred in Europe, including a truck running over a celebrating crowd in France's Nice and a suicide bombing near an open-air music festival in Ansbach, a city in the German state of Bavaria, which made Europe urgently and extensively boost its safety and security measures.
