Isinbaeva, a two-time Olympic champion and three-time world gold winner, has been banned from next month’s Rio Olympics alongside other Russian athletes over doping allegations.

"I have not received a reply from IAAF to my request to give me a clear answer whether Yelena Isinbaeva is eligible to go to the Olympic Games. As far as I know the deadline is today," the athlete told reporters in Moscow.

Earlier this month, the IAAF announced it had banned all Russian athletes from taking part in international competitions, including the upcoming Olympics in Brazil. It made an exception for long jumper Darya Klishina, who trains in the United States.
